DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING AND INVESTMENT
INTRODUCTION
Department of Planning and Investment was established on November 29, 2014. The department was established to meet the training, research, and technology transfer needs in the field of Investment Economics with a team of well-trained, specialized, and experienced lecturers and researchers. In addition, the Department is also involved in teaching other subjects at undergraduate and post-graduate levels relating to Economics, Agricultural Economics, Digital Economics, Financial Economics, Management Economics, Rural Development, and Management and Development of Human Resources.

RESEARCH
v Research focus
The Department's main research fields are agricultural economics, rural development, socio-economic development, and policy evaluation. In addition, the Department will expand the research field in the following directions:
- Developing, evaluating, and appraising strategy and socio-economic development plan.
- Attracting domestic and international investment.
- Completion of planning.

v On-going projects
- A feasibility study of the Emission Reduction Project in the Central Highlands and South Central Coast of Vietnam, which would contribute to achieving the objectives of the national REDD+ action program in Ninh Thuan province.
- The project “Poverty Dynamics and Sustainable Development: A Long-term Panel Project in Thailand and Vietnam” (TVSEP) was funded by the Leibniz University Hannover.
- Assess the current situation and propose solutions to develop concentrated herbal production areas according to the value chain in Hoa Binh province, Vietnam.
- Solution of land accumulation and concentration for agricultural and aquaculture development towards large-scale goods in Namdinh province, Vietnam.

- Basic solutions to sustainable poverty reduction in ethnic minorities and mountainous areas in Vietnam until 2030.
- Solution to attract enterprises’ investment in high-tech agriculture of Hanoi city.
- Solution to attract enterprises’ investment in the agriculture sector of Hoabinh province, Vietnam.
- Evaluation of the graduation approach to Vietnam's child poverty reduction program.
- Assessment of the current situation, proposing policies and solutions to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) in agricultural production and business (Ministerial-level project, Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development)
- Research on the coping ability of the rural poor to the impact of natural disaster risk and socio-economic fluctuation (The State-level project).
- Research on risk management policy for pig farming in Vietnam (Ministerial-level project, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development).
- Solution to maintain criteria for communes meeting new rural standards in the period of 2014 – 2018 in Yenbai province.
